Where it started

The first poster. The collaboration began with a concert poster for "Fuglen Pippin og den musikalske samling". It was the first time Pippin was drawn, and it set the tone for the colourful, playful world that followed.

The starting point

From plush toy to character.Pippin already existed as a plush toy that Emil brings on stage. My task was to turn it into a drawn character that could carry the universe beyond the stage, while still feeling like the Pippin the children already know.

One character, many places

Built to travel. The illustrations had to work at very different sizes, from a large stage backdrop to a small pixi book, a children's T-shirt and posters.

A growing world

New themes, same Pippin. Each new concert theme adds new friends and settings, such as Pippin's Zoo and Pippin's Christmas. The cast grows, but the line and the feeling stay the same.

My role

I illustrated the characters and selected scenes. Emil handled layout, print and production.

The result

A recognisable visual world that now lives on stage, in print and on clothing, with a second book currently in progress.
