PROJECT
Redesigning Ally

Background

Ally was launched by Aller Media as an innovative digital platform designed to bring diverse entertainment formats together in one experience. With content spanning articles, podcasts, video and magazines, the challenge was to create a coherent experience that made a broad content universe easier to explore and navigate.

THE CHALLENGE

Too much content. One experience.

Ally brings together articles, podcasts, video and magazines in one place. The challenge was to make all these different formats feel like part of the same experience, without making everything look and behave the same.

THE IDEA

Make the content lead the way.

Instead of building the experience around one specific content format, I wanted to create a flexible framework where different types of content could live side by side. The interface should help you discover something interesting, without making you think too much about where to find it.

ONE PLATFORM. MANY FORMATS.

Articles, podcasts, videos and magazines all have their own character. The challenge was to give each format enough space to feel relevant, while still making Ally feel like one coherent product.

THE VISUAL LANGUAGE

Different content. Same DNA.

Each format has its own visual identity, but they all follow the same underlying structure. This makes it possible to change the content without losing the feeling of one connected experience.

Articles:

The experience was designed to make content discovery feel more intuitive across different editorial formats. Articles and series were structured to help users explore related content while maintaining a clear hierarchy between individual stories and the broader content universe.

Podcasts:

Podcasts were integrated as a natural part of the overall content experience, allowing users to discover, explore and consume audio content without feeling disconnected from the rest of the platform.

Video:

Video content was given its own visual presence while remaining part of the wider editorial experience. The design focused on making discovery and playback feel consistent with the platform's other content formats.

Magazines:

Existing magazine content was brought into the digital experience, giving users a more accessible way to discover and explore titles alongside the platform's other editorial content.

MY ROLE

UX/UI Designer · Creative Lead

I worked across the experience from UX strategy and interaction design to visual direction and concept development. My role was to shape the overall experience and create a visual system that could work across the different content formats.

THE RESULT

One place for a lot of different things.

The result was a concept for a more connected Ally experience, where different types of content could live together and still feel easy to explore.
